I completed a 36 year career with the U.S. Forest Service and then I was given a chance to move to where I've always wanted to live and here I am.

Working for the Forest Service was pretty enjoyable, it had its' moments as all jobs do, but for the most part, I was pretty happy there and I got to do lots of interesting things. I was a Fire Fighter, a Fire Lookout, a Road Engineer, a Radio Technician, a Telecommunications Specialist and finally just before retiring, I was an IT Specialist working on computers and computer networks. Spending my days in the mountais and the forest gave me my best memories though. Towards the end, my time was spent in computer rooms and under people's desks.

I have two daughters and 8 grand kids and I live alone with my two cats, Roy and Dale. I enjoy Photography and computers and I'm a wannabe musician with delusions of fame and fortune!

"I was alone in the wilderness and so were they, but their wilderness was the "coup de grace" of all wildernesses"

Read about one of my Lookout experiences here.

It was also published in a NW Literary Magazine: Under Hwy 99 (Issue 1).
